Dear Dog Owner,
Another day I was walking on a trail in a San Francisco park with a client’s dog and I wondered to myself who should be paying who? Seriously, the sun was coming thru the trees, I got this beautiful dog with me and we were enjoying each other’s company.
Why did I become a professional dog walker and pet sitter? Because the joy I take out of this profession is so satisfying that I don't feel I am working. I love my clients dogs as they were my own.
My love for animals started at a young age. I thought of becoming a veterinarian, a professional horse back rider or an animal rescuer. I moved to the United States in 1984 and worked in different jobs until settling in as a personal assistant with a preference for working with clients that had dogs.
In 2009, while I was volunteering at the San Francisco Animal Care and Control and at the GADAB (Give a Dog a Bone) project, I realized that I was ready to become a full time professional dog walker. This was what I really loved to do. I got all the necessary certifications, license and insurance and started my company, SF Walk With Me, which provides dog walking and pet sitting services in the city of San Francisco.
My company is small and I want to keep it this way. I always get attached to the dogs I take care. We are a big family.
